Tuna Salad Recalled in 7 States Due to Listeria Risk

• Tuna salad products recalled in seven states over Listeria contamination risk, per FDA reports.
• Recalled products were sold at Albertsons, Jewel Osco, Randalls and Tom Thumb stores.
• No infections have been connected to this recall, but Listeria infection can lead to severe foodborne illness.

There are two ongoing recalls on multiple ready-to-eat tuna salad products sold in seven states, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. This is due to a possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination.

This contamination has resulted in two separate recalls involving grocery chains Albertsons, Jewel Osco, Randalls and Tom Thumb. The following products are affected by these recalls, including each impacted product’s UPC, sell-thru date and the store and state information:

The breadcrumbs in these tuna salad products may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, resulting in these recalls. Check your refrigerator ASAP for the above products, and if you have food on hand that matches any of the above information, dispose of it or return to your place of purchase for a full refund. 

While there are no illnesses connected to this recall, Listeria infection (listeriosis) can result in severe illness for those who are immunocompromised, age 65 or older, pregnant or young children. Symptoms of listeriosis may include fever, muscle aches, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea, and they usually last for one to three days. If you are showing signs of foodborne illness, consult a health care professional.
