I made the switch to primarily using wooden cutting boards, specifically bamboo, rather than plastic. I’m doing this to hopefully reduce microplastics in my kitchen, though I know I’ll never completely remove them. Nonetheless, this set is high quality and versatile enough that I have just what I need to prep meals and snacks. I love the contrasting look, and these boards are just as sturdy as they are beautiful.

These are our favorite glass containers. The glass base is strong, withstanding the microwave, dishwasher and freezer. It also doesn’t stain or absorb odors. Better yet, it’s great for reducing plastics in your home, too. The lids are made from BPA-free materials, and they’re also long-lasting and airtight. It’s a small trade-off, since your food will likely be in contact with the glass base. 

Le Creuset Enameled Cast-Iron Signature Round Dutch Oven, 5.5-Quart

I’m confident that the Le Creuset Dutch oven is an investment-worthy piece, especially if it’s on sale. It stands the test of time—my parents still use one that is over two decades old. We also put this through rigorous trials in our test kitchen, and it aced each one. It has excellent heat retention, durability and is absolutely display-worthy. 

Breville Smart Oven Air Fryer Pro

Ever since I got this air fryer toaster oven, I wondered how I could go so long without it. It’s been a dream appliance purchase for me: I saved up and purchased it once I moved into my new apartment. It does everything, and, as someone tight on counter space, it’s worth having it to take the place of a toaster and an air fryer. My partner and I use it for everything thanks to its array of settings. Whether we’re crisping up tofu, toasting English muffins or reheating pizza, we know we can rely on it fully. 

Flairosol Olivia Glass Oil Sprayer

One of my newest purchases, this oil sprayer was a necessity because of how much we air fry ingredients for dinner. I love how strong the stream of oil comes out because it actually coats the food. The mist is so fine that it distributes evenly without me needing to spread it or spray multiple times. Just one quick mist on each side and we’re done! Also, it’s tinted glass, so I know it’s protecting my olive oil. 

Breville Bambino Plus Espresso Machine

I’ve been testing one of Breville’s newest espresso machines, and it’s incredible. It saves me so much time, money and waste—I’m never going out to order a cappuccino or a latte in one of those plastic cups. If you’re a beginner and want to dip your toes into the water, we highly recommend the Breville Bambino Plus for its compact, easy-to-use design. It isn’t often on sale, so now’s the best time to splurge. 

Brooks Ghost Max 2 Neutral Running and Walking Shoe

I’m shocked these Brooks shoes are still in stock. Heck, they might just be sold out by the time you’re reading this. These are a coveted Brooks model in my family—the Ghost Max has both my sister’s and my seal of approval. This model is one of her favorites for work. As a physical therapist, their cushy, comfortable soles and lightweight feel keep her feet pain-free during long work days.  

Zelus Weighted Vest

I started wearing a weighted vest to improve my heart health, endurance and strength. It’s recommended to start small, roughly 5% of your body weight, but since I’m fairly active each week, I grabbed the 12-pound option. It’s been really exciting to wear it during my incline walks, as I’ve noticed that different parts of my body are more engaged, like my core. Because of that, it’s been a shake-up that’s both fun and challenging. I use this Zelus version because I didn’t want to spend a ton on something new. It’s very comfortable and distributes the weight nicely—I hardly notice it when I’m walking!

This is my most-used piece of kitchen storage, believe it or not. I find the bowl shape great for meal-prepped grains and sauces. The glass base is reliable—it doesn’t crack easily and never absorbs smells. But the best part? The included lids! I love having them around. I can use these as serving bowls because they’re so pretty, then pop the top on and store the leftovers for later. They’re also my go-to mixing bowls. I have two sets because I love them so much.
