Hi Friends!

I recently transitioned from MyFitnessPal to the Lose it app, and I LOVE IT!! MyFitnessPal’s last update was just visually awful. I can no longer see all my food at a glance. There was a lot of white space, and it became necessary to tap 3 times to see what I had for lunch!

But, I do like Lose it!  The UX design is so much better and it’s incredibly easy to use.

However, in this transition, I was using a little notebook to just jot things down as I ate them. (I would add the time I ate and what I thought the approximate calories would be).  I need to do this more often because it was SO Illuminating!  I was going back for food almost every 30 minutes!

There was a time when I was SO good at avoiding snacking.  In fact, I wrote these articles 5 years ago, because to stop snacking was the first thing that finally worked for me in my weight loss journey.

But complacency and the “slippery slope” can creep back in for me as well. The key is to NOTICE it, and then get right back on track! Which I DID.

In this article, I go over 8 reasons to stop snacking

  1. You’ll likely eat fewer calories.
  2. You can avoid decision fatigue
  3. You can feel more satiated.
  4. Insulin sensitivity returns
  5. It’s easier to be mindful of your food.
  6. You will make healthier choices
  7. It’s EASIER to track!!
  8. and you’ll stop ruminating about food. (I said fixating in the article, but I’ve been liking the word ruminating better!)

Hope you enjoy!

P.S.  I haven’t had a chance to add it to my blog yet, but this recipe I just posted to instagram for whipped cottage cheese is the BEST!!!
