Aldi Just Recalled a Popular Frozen Item Nationwide

  • Aldi recalls Fusia Asian Inspirations Veggie Spring Rolls sold nationwide.
  • The product may contain shrimp, an undeclared allergen, posing a risk for consumers.
  • Check your freezer for this item and return any recalled products to Aldi for a refund.

Aldi just announced a recall on a popular frozen product sold at grocery store locations nationwide, according to a company announcement and U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) report. This is due to an undeclared ingredient, posing an allergen risk.

The item affected by this recall is the Fusia Asian Inspirations Veggie Spring Rolls sold in 10-ounce packages with a printed UPC of 409910222258 and best-by date “5/17/2027.” The spring rolls may contain shrimp, which is not declared on the ingredients list.

“The recall was initiated after it was discovered that certain cases of Shrimp Spring Rolls may have been inadvertently packaged in boxes labeled as Vegetable Spring Rolls,” the FDA report notes. “The cause of this labeling error is being investigated.”

Check your freezer, and if you have the impacted spring rolls on hand, dispose of them or return to your local Aldi for a refund. While there are no illnesses or reactions connected to this recall, those who have dietary preferences or have a shellfish allergy may unknowingly eat shrimp when consuming this product. This can result in an allergic reaction as severe as anaphylaxis. If you or a loved one are showing signs of anaphylactic shock such as hives, swelling, trouble breathing, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea, dizziness and/or tightness of the throat, call 911 immediately.

For questions about this recall, contact Tai Foong USA at 206-883-2317, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. PT or by email at bcox@northernchef.com.
